I\u2019ve recently been reading a book by John Gribbin about the possibility of life in other parts of our galaxy. The title \u2013 Alone in the Universe \u2013 makes it pretty clear what the answer is going to be, but the reasoning by which Gribbin arrives at this answer is fascinating.<\/p>\n

On the first anniversary of this blog, it seems an appropriate moment to ask a similar question: Is there anybody out there? Of course, I know that there are people out there reading this blog because some of you have been kind enough to tell me so. However, I\u2019m not getting much feedback, so I\u2019m wondering whether my posts are missing their target. Are they too dull, too technical or simply addressing the wrong subjects? Or is it just that some of you are a bit apathetic? I\u2019ve got plenty of ideas for new blog posts, but have you got any better suggestions?<\/p>\n
